The vineyards of Dry River are characterised by their free-draining alluvial gravels and the region's cool, dry climate. These conditions are ideal for growing Pinot Noir, contributing to the development of the grapes' intense flavours and aromatic complexity. The old vines of Dry River, meticulously managed and dry-farmed, play a crucial role in achieving the desired balance and concentration in the grapes. Grapes for the Dry River Pinot Noir are handpicked and carefully sorted to ensure only the best quality fruit is used. Following fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak for 12 months, 20% of which is new. This stage contributes to its structure and adds subtle layers of flavour. Dry River Pinot Noir displays red berry, plum and earthy undertones in an elegant, powerful palate with silky tannins. This wine has excellent cellaring potential.
