The biodynamically-farmed vineyards for this Pinot Noir are situated in the Bannockburn region of Central Otago, offering ideal conditions for growing the Pinot Noir grape. This region is characterised by its dramatic diurnal temperature shifts and silt and loess soils, which contribute significantly to the development of the grape's intricate flavours and aromatic intensity. Grapes are hand-harvested and mostly destemmed for fruit concentration and tannic balance. Fermentation takes place with natural yeast and the wine ages in oak, 30% of which is new, for 16 months. It’s bottled without fining or filtration to promote varietal vintage and terroir expression. Felton Road Pinot Noir Calvert displays dark fruit, earthy undertones and elegant floral notes in a smooth palate with fine tannins. This wine possesses significant ageing potential.
