The biodynamically-farmed vineyards for Earth Smoke Pinot Noir feature limestone and clay soils that are ideal for nurturing Pinot Noir vines. These soils, combined with the cool, maritime climate of the region, contribute significantly to the wine's aromatic complexity and nuanced flavours. The grapes are hand harvested ensuring that each cluster is at its optimal ripeness. Grapes are fully destemmed to promote fruit concentration and see extended fermentation with natural yeasts. The wine matures in French oak for 18 months and is bottled unfined and unfiltered to promote complexity and varietal, vintage and terroir expression. Pyramid Valley Earth Smoke Pinot Noir features dark cherry, earthy undertones and smoky hints in a balanced palate with silky tannins. This wine possesses great ageing potential.
