Understanding E. Guigal, Hermitage, Ex Voto Blanc, Rhone
The vineyards for Ermitage Blanc Ex Voto feature clay, loess and pebble soils that enrich Marsanne vines aged up to 90 years. These varied terroirs contribute to the grapes' deep flavour profile and complexity. The fermentation process focuses on preserving the fruity purity of the grapes and is followed by softening malolactic fermentation. The wine matures for 30 months in new oak, a stage that enhances its complexity and depth. E. Guigal Ermitage Blanc Ex Voto displays ripe stone fruit, honey and a touch of spice in a full, creamy palate with a lift of acidity. It is a wine with superb cellaring potential, evolving beautifully over time.
