Sourced from the oldest and most superior vineyards on the Hermitage Hill, La Chapelle's grapes are cultivated in soils rich in granite and limestone. The plots are farmed with biodynamic practices and work is entirely manual with the help of a horse. These vineyards' unique terroir, coupled with their ideal sun exposure, contribute to the development of low-yield Syrah grapes with remarkable depth and character. The winemaking process involves selective hand-harvesting and careful sorting. La Chapelle undergoes four weeks of vinification with gentle extractions to tease out fruit and colour concentration. The wine ages in French oak, 20% of which is new, a step that imbues it with depth and complexity. La Chapelle displays dark fruit, spice and a distinctive minerality in a robust palate with smooth tannins. This wine is renowned for its extraordinary cellaring capacity.
