Understanding Chateau de Saint Cosme, Gigondas, Hominis Fides, Rhone
Hominis Fides is made exclusively from old-vine Grenache, some vines dating back over a century. These ancient vines, deeply rooted in the sandy soils of Gigondas, yield grapes of extraordinary concentration and character. Grapes are hand-harvested and undergo an extended fermentation to extract maximum flavour and complexity. Fermentation features whole clusters to promote fruit purity and concentration. The wine ages in oak barriques, one-third of which is new. This stage supports a subtle oak influence that allows the wine's natural vibrancy to shine through. Hominis Fides displays ripe red berry, hints of leather and spice in a silky palate with fine-grained tannins. This wine has the capacity for prolonged cellaring.
