Grapes for Lancement are sourced from the estate’s old vine Syrah holdings on the acclaimed Côte Blonde slopes. Vines benefit from the distinct terroir of Côte-Rôtie with Syrah thriving in the local soils, producing grapes of exceptional quality. Stéphane Ogier's winemaking prowess is evident in the production of Lancement. In the winery, grape clusters are 100% destemmed to encourage pure and concentrated fruit expression. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, a stage that further enhances fruit purity. In the past, this wine was aged in part new French oak but today no new oak is used. Maturation takes place for 20 months, allowing the seamless integration of flavours and tannins. Stéphane Ogier Côte-Rôtie Lancement displays blackberry, dark cherry, violet, black pepper and hints of graphite in a velvety, refined palate with elegant tannins. This red wine has the potential for considerable ageing.
