Côte-Rôtie Belle Hélène is classic yet modern expression of the Côte-Rôtie appellation. This flagship wine made by Stéphane Ogier, is named after a family member and showcases the artistry and elegance synonymous with Ogier's winemaking. Understanding Stephane Ogier, Cote Rotie, La Belle Helene, Rhone

Belle Hélène is made from 100% Syrah grown on half a hectare of land in Côte Rozier. Not only is this vineyard site one of the locale’s best but it’s also located a stone’s throw from some of the appellation’s most prestigious parcels. Vines are close to a century old and produce lower quantities of grapes that are of the finest quality. In the cellar, grapes are 100% whole cluster pressed to add structure to the wine. Following meticulous fermentation processes, the wine ages in French oak barrels that are 50 to 100% new depending on the vintage. Maturation takes place in these barrels for 12 months then the completion stage of ageing occurs in neutral oak. This wine features dark fruit, savoury spice, violet and cured meat in a luxurious, velvety palate with silky tannins and has considerable cellaring potential.
