Understanding Jasmin, Cote Rotie, Giroflarie, Rhone
Jasmin's Giroflarie is predominantly crafted from Syrah sourced from 11 prime parcels, with a small percentage of Viognier, adhering to the classic Côte-Rôtie blend. The age of the vines and diverse soils enhance the intensity and flavour complexity. Patrick Jasmin's approach to winemaking combines traditional techniques with a modern sensibility. Fermentation promotes the development of finessed fruit richness and elegant structure. The wine is aged in a combination of new and old oak, adding layers of complexity while respecting the inherent qualities of the fruit. Giroflarie reveals dark fruit complemented by floral and spicy notes, all underpinned by a solid mineral backbone in a well-structured palate with velvety tannins. This red wine has excellent ageing capacity.
