Understanding Garon, Cote Rotie, Rochins, Rhone
Les Rochains' is 100% Syrah, cultivated on the esteemed Côte Brune from parcels that are located close to the celebrated La Landonne site. The vines thrive on a slope with distinctive soil composed of schist, clay and iron, which imparts a unique minerality and complexity to the grapes. This vineyard’s particular location benefits from both ample sunlight and protective natural elements, fostering the development of richly-flavoured and well-structured grapes. The harvest at Domaine Garon is conducted manually so only the finest fruit is vinified. Fermentation is carefully controlled, and the wine is aged in 25% new French oak for 18 to 20 months. This process adds depth and complexity to its profile. 'Les Rochains' features dark fruit, subtle floral notes and a hint of spice all underlined by a solid tannic backbone. This wine has considerable ageing potential.
