Understanding Domaine Jamet, Cote Rotie, Cote Brune, Rhone
This cuvée is predominantly composed of Syrah, with the grapes sourced exclusively from the Côte Brune sector of Côte Rotie. This area is renowned for its rich, iron-laden soils and optimal sun exposure, conditions that are ideal for cultivating Syrah of extraordinary quality. Grapes are handpicked, carefully sorted and partially whole-cluster fermented with natural yeasts in stainless steel. These steps support fruit vibrancy and wine structure. The wine is then aged in large oak casks for 22 months, a process that imbues it with subtlety and complexity while preserving the integrity of the fruit's flavour profile. Côte Brune displays dark berry, violet and a signature hint of smoky minerality in a rich, full-bodied palate with a robust tannic structure and a balanced acidity. Côte Brune has outstanding potential for graceful ageing and development.
