The Maison Rouge vineyard, with its steep, terraced slopes and rich, granitic soil, is an ideal site for cultivating high-quality Syrah grapes. The vineyard's specific microclimate and the age of its vines play crucial roles in developing the depth and intensity of the wine. The grapes are meticulously hand-harvested, ensuring only the best fruit is selected. Fermentation takes place in open concrete tanks. The wine is then aged in oak barrels, a portion of which are new, for up to 20 months before bottling. Côte Rôtie Maison Rouge displays dark berry, violet and a hint of smokiness on a rich, refined palate underpinned by well-structured tannins.
