Understanding Cuilleron, Condrieu, Vertige, Rhone
The grapes for Condrieu Vertige grow in a single parcel in the steep, south-facing Coteau de Vernon plot. Granite-rich soils produce fruit with aromatic intensity and a seam of minerality. Cuilleron tends the vineyards sustainably and implements careful foliage control, ensuring that the grapes ripen fully and are of the highest quality. All fruit is hand-picked and sorted so that only the best-quality grapes are vinified. The winemaking process for Condrieu Vertige marries traditional methods with modern practices. Grapes are gently pressed with only the finest juices undergoing barrel fermentation with natural yeasts for a unique expression. Barrel ageing for 18 months on lees adds texture, depth and complexity. Condrieu Vertige displays ripe stone fruit, white florals and exotic spice in a full-bodied palate with a luxuriant texture. Crisp acidity adds freshness and length to the finish while the wine’s minerality adds finesse. This Condrieu has the capacity for extended, graceful ageing.
