The Croix de Bois vineyard is characterised by sandy red clay and large quartzite stones that retain and reflect heat, helping to ripen the Grenache. The vines, deeply rooted in this unique soil, benefit from the optimal blend of sunlight and temperature variation, leading to the development of rich, concentrated flavours in the grapes. Grapes are destemmed to balance fruit and structure. Vinification takes place in concrete tanks for three weeks to promote pure flavours and tannin integration. A fruity profile is further enhanced with tank maturation for up to 16 months. The M. Chapoutier Châteauneuf-du-Pape Croix de Bois displays ripe dark fruit, spice, liquorice, subtle hints of garrigue and earthy undertones on a rich, silky, full-bodied palate with a silky texture and a hint of minerality.
