Understanding Domaine de la Mordoree, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, La Reine Des Bois, Rhone
La Reine des Bois is predominantly crafted from Grenache, with contributions from Mourvèdre, Syrah and other traditional Rhône varietals. The old-vine sites feature diverse soils including the distinctive, Galets Roulés (large pebbles), limestone and clay, with each playing a crucial role in imparting the wine with its unique profile. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, ensuring depth and intensity in the wine. In the winery, they are destemmed to promote fruit purity and see vinification in a combination of stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels. Oak is used judiciously to allow the wine to develop its full potential while retaining the purity of the fruit. La Reine des Bois exhibits dark fruit, herb notes and a touch of minerality in an impressively structured, lush texture palate with fine tannins. La Reine des Bois demonstrates superb cellaring potential.
