Chantemerle VV is predominantly made from Grenache, sourced from the estate's oldest Grenache vines, which are well over 100 years old. These ancient vines are deeply rooted in the unique soil of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, characterised by its famed Galets Roulés and diverse mineral composition. The age of these vines significantly contributes to the low-yield, high-quality grapes, ensuring concentrated flavours and complexity. Grapes are hand-harvested with rigorous selection, followed by fermentation in traditional tanks to preserve the purity and distinctiveness of the fruit. The wine is then aged in a combination of large foudres and smaller oak barrels, a method that imparts depth and subtle nuances of spice and vanilla while respecting the Grenache's natural vibrancy. Châteauneuf-du-Pape Chantemerle VV exhibits dark fruit, garrigue and earthy undertones in a powerful yet refined palate with smooth tannins. Chantemerle VV possesses a remarkable capacity for ageing.
