La Truffière is a Premier Cru vineyard in Puligny-Montrachet. It produces white wines from the Chardonnay grape variety. It is located at the northern end of the commune, near the border with Meursault and Blagny and just above the Les Folatières vineyard, which was once home to a dense forest. The forest has been providing a trove of truffles to the nobility of the region, though in the last half-century, these have been replaced with vines. The limestone soils, once perfect for truffle production, also provide an excellent terroir for winegrowing. Light, pebbly marl covers a hard limestone subsoil and water is prevented from saturating the land by both the slope and the porosity of the soil. Vigour and yields are lessened as a result. The wines of La Truffière tend towards fresh minerality rather than rich fruit.

Domaine Bruno Colin La Truffiere Puligny-Montrachet is a 100% Chardonnay, coming from vines planted in 1952 and 1987. The Domaine practices sustainable cultivation, with a manual harvest followed by selective sorting in the vineyards, pneumatic pressing and settling, before the wine undergoes fermentation on fine lees in oak barrels with 20 to 25% new oak. The wine matures in oak for 12 months before being racked and blended in stainless steel vats for 3 to 6 months. It usually displays a rich golden hue and exceptional purity and has excellent ageing potential. Its longer cellaring potential has been recognised by major critics such as Jancis Robinson MW and Wine Spectator.
