Les Perrières is a Premier Cru vineyard found in the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation of Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits sub-region. Red wines from Pinot Noir and white wines from Pinot Blanc are produced from this 2.5-hectare, east-facing vineyard. The name Perrières refers to the presence of an old, underground quarry in the northern reaches of the vineyard. The old-vine Domaine Forey Père et Fils Nuit Saint Georges Les Perrieres displays an intense core of black cherry and strawberry and hints of toasted nuts. Deep and subtle, this Les Perrieres has impressive minerality and a sweet spicy finish. This Premier Cru wine is suitable for five to seven years of cellaring.

The domaine cultivates Pinot Noir vines on east and southeast-facing, limestone-clay slopes, planted between 1937 and 1942. With a focus on promoting biodiversity, manmade chemicals are used in minimal amounts. The domaine hand harvests all fruit to ensure that only the best grapes make it to the winery. Following cold-soaking and fermentation, this Premier Cru wine undergoes maturation in 228-litre barriques for increased oak-to-wine contact. The percentage of new oak varies from vintage to vintage. To preserve the unique vintage and terroir expression, no fining or filtration takes place prior to bottling. Burghound has praised this Les Perrieres as ‘outstanding’.
