Widely considered to be the best in the commune and one of the best in the Côte de Beaune, Perrières is a Chardonnay only Premier Cru vineyard at the southern end of Meursault. Albert Grivault is the principal vineyard owner in this appellation, with two vineyard plots totalling over 1ha. The 37-year old-vines face south-southwest on clay-limestone soils, producing wines that are elegant and expressive with Perrières’ trademark chalky minerality.

Understanding Albert Grivault, Meursault Premier Cru, Perrieres Blanc, Burgundy
Made from the region’s signature white grape Chardonnay, this wine is produced from hand-picked fruit, oak is used judiciously during élevage, this wine sees a maximum of 20% new oak (vintage dependant) with modest use of bâtonnage, the emphasis being on expression of terroir. Bright and fresh with a slight austerity in youth, these are linear, elegant wines with a precise minerality. Producing approximately 9,300 bottles annually, the Perrières Blanc will reward a few years bottle ageing, as it become more expressive with time.
