Corton-Charlemagne is considered one of the greatest vineyards in Burgundy, and it is produced across much of the top portion of the oval-shaped Montagne de Corton hill. The domaine’s old vines in this esteemed Grand Cru climat cover 0.5 hectares. The east-facing parcel is situated on the edge of the Bois de Corton, at an altitude of 350m, overlooking Bressandes Grand Cru climat on white marl soils that are ideally suited for the cultivation of Chardonnay grapes.

Understanding Domaine Follin-Arbelet, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, Burgundy
Produced from sustainably-farmed Chardonnay grapes, the wine is fermented and aged in barrels for 18 months with 20-25% new wood. The wine’s appealing bouquet delivers aromas of pear, orange peel, honey, white almond, fresh bread and stem ginger. Its medium-full body is firm and textural, with a fleshy fruit core and fresh acidity providing wonderful balance.The wine has been scored highly by major critics, with Willam Kelley of Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate praising its concentration and richness.
