Understanding Amiot Servelle, Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru, Burgundy
The Amiot-Servelle Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru is crafted from Pinot Noir, sourced from the domaine's carefully tended vineyards within the prestigious Clos Saint-Denis area. The vineyard's exceptional terroir, characterised by a unique combination of limestone and clay soils, contributes to the creation of a wine with deep flavour concentration and elegant structure. The domaine adheres to biodynamic farming practices and the winemaking process is equally thoughtful, with fermentation taking place using indigenous yeasts to maintain the true expression of the vineyard. Ageing in French oak barrels, about half of which are new, lasts for about 16 to 18 months. This stage adds complexity and depth. Amiot-Servelle Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru features red and black fruit, violet, spice and earthy notes in a refined, silky palate with fine tannins. This wine promises outstanding ageing potential.
