Les Chaumées is a well-regarded Premier Cru vineyard at the top of the slope in Chassagne-Montrachet. It is planted with both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but it is the white wines carrying this designation that attract the most attention. One of Les Chaumées' most notable features is its soil, which is made up of crumbled limestone with a small amount of clay. This, combined with the vineyard’s aspect, facing the rising sun to the east, generally leads to the production of concentrated berries, showing crisp minerality and finesse when vinified.

Domaine Bruno Colin Chassagne-Montrachet Chaumees is a 100% Chardonnay, made from vines planted in 1956, 1988 and 2003, the year that the estate was founded. The Domaine practices sustainable cultivation methods, with a manual harvest followed by selective sorting in the vineyards, pneumatic pressing, settling, before fermentation on fine lees in oak barrels with 20 to 25% new oak. The wine is aged in oak for 12 months before being racked and transferred to stainless steel vats for 3 to 6 months. The wines are highly praised for their tension and aromatic purity, with Wine Enthusiast lauding the 2004 vintage as ‘a ripe, open, generous wine, the opulent side of white Burgundy’.
