An introduction to Arnaud Ente, Bourgogne, Chardonnay, Burgundy

The wine is produced from three sites across the domaine’s well-positioned holdings in the communes of Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault, which include the respected lieux-dits of En L’Ormeau and the Les Petits Charrons, on the slope just above Meursault village. The vines were planted in 1973, 1986, 2002, and cover a total surface area of 0.52 hectares. While a regional wine, Domaine Arnaud Ente’s Bourgogne Chardonnay benefits from blending from sites with different combinations of clay and limestone.

Understanding Arnaud Ente, Bourgogne, Chardonnay, Burgundy

Produced from sustainably farmed Chardonnay grapes, the wine is raised in demi-muids, and bottled without filtration or fining. The wine’s bouquet is remarkably fresh, with an abundance of green apple, pear and citrus aromas. On the palate, it displays an array of delicious flavours, and its voluminous mouthfeel and extended finish are impressive for a village wine. The wine has been scored well by major critics, with Allen Meadows of Burghound praising its intensity, depth and persistence.
