An introduction to Vincent Dancer, Beaune Premier Cru, Les Montrevenots, Burgundy
Planted mostly with Pinot Noir, Les Montrevenots is a Beaune Premier Cru vineyard bordering Pommard. Known for being one of the commune’s highest Premier Cru sites, vines are situated on the southern side of the Montagne-Saint-Désiré hill. Vincent Dancer’s parcel of vines, planted in 1996, can be found at high-altitude above Clos des Mouches, on white marl, limestone rich soils. The particularly rocky soils bring structural finesse and lifted aromatics to the wine. Approachable already in youth, the wine can age for over ten years.

Understanding Vincent Dancer, Beaune Premier Cru, Les Montrevenots, Burgundy
The sustainably farmed, hand-harvested fruit from organic vineyards is vinified with a non-interventionist approach. The 100% destemmed fruit undergoes wild yeast fermentation in oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally and no sulfur is added to the wine. The wine matures for 18 months in oak barrels, at which point it is blended and transferred to stainless steel tanks for a further five to six months before being bottled without fining or filtration. The Les Montrevenots wines show juicy red fruit notes and fine tannins, and truly reflect Dancer’s trademark elegance and finesse.
