Les Vercots is a Premier Cru climat covering 4.19 hectares, situated at the southwestern edge of Aloxe-Corton on the border with Pernand-Vergelesses. The domaine’s south-facing vines cover a total surface area of 1.1 hectares, and its soil of compact clay on a very hard, shallow diaclased rock generates wines of magnificent ageability. This great concentration and length ranks it first among the Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru.

Understanding Domaine Follin Arbelet, Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru, Les Vercots, Burgundy
Domaine Follin Arbelet Aloxe Corton Vercots Premier Cru is made from sustainably-farmed Pinot Noir grapes. The wine is fermented and aged in barrels for 12 months with 20-25% new wood, followed by six months in old casks. It is bottled without filtration or fining. Its bouquet tends towards darker fruit like cassis and black plum, which is accompanied by alluring notes of dark chocolate and warm spices. It has a medium to full body, with well-integrated new oak, powdery tannins, and a phenomenal concentration and depth, as one expects from the clay terroir. The wine has been praised for its deoth, texture, concentration and lively acidity by major critics such as William Kelley (The Wine Advocate).
