Understanding Chateau Croix de Labrie, Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux

The vineyards of Château Croix de Labrie benefit from the diverse clay and limestone soils characteristic of Saint-Émilion, providing an ideal environment for Merlot vines. Vines average about 50 years of age and biodynamic and organic farming principles are implemented. Harvesting at Château Croix de Labrie is done entirely by hand, with a focus on selecting only the highest quality grapes. The winemaking process includes separate plot vinification in temperature-controlled vats, followed by ageing for 18 months in new French oak barrels, which enhances the wine's complexity and adds a refined oak character. This meticulous approach to winemaking results in a Saint-Émilion wine that is not only a true expression of its terroir but also a reflection of Château Croix de Labrie's dedication to excellence and artisanal craftsmanship. This Grand Vin displays ripe red and black fruit, notes of chocolate, coffee and subtle oak in a finessed palate with elegant tannins and balanced acidity. Croix de Labrie is a wine that beautifully matures, revealing complex layers of taste and aroma over time.
