Originating from the younger vines of Château Troplong Mondot's expansive vineyards, Mondot is a harmonious blend, primarily consisting of Merlot, with smaller contributions from Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. This blend reflects the diversity and richness of the estate's terroir, carefully selected to produce a wine that is both expressive and approachable in its youth, yet capable of developing beautifully with age. The vinification process for Mondot utilises temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats to preserve the fruit's vibrant flavours and aromas. Following fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels for a period of up to 18 months. This step promotes a subtle oak influence that complements rather than competes with its fruit-forward character. Mondot features dark fruit, hints of spice, chocolate and a delicate touch of oak in a velvety palate framed by polished tannins.
