A brief history of Chateau Peby Faugeres Grand Cru Classe, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux

Château Péby Faugères, located on the right bank of Bordeaux in the Saint-Émilion appellation, dates back to the 19th century. The estate was brought into the limelight under the ownership of Silvio Denz, a Swiss entrepreneur with a passion for wine and art, who acquired it in the late 20th century. The vineyard, once part of the larger Faugères estate, was singled out for its exceptional terroir and designated to produce a single-vineyard wine under the Péby Faugères name in 1998. This move marked the estate's transition towards producing ultra-premium wines. With its 100% Merlot vines, Château Péby Faugères exemplifies the pinnacle of quality in the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé, a status it has proudly held since 2012. The Péby Faugères vineyard spans 7.5 hectares planted entirely to Merlot.
