Understanding Carillon d'Angelus, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux
The grapes for Carillon d'Angelus are sourced from younger vines of the Château Angelus estate, located on the famed limestone and clay slopes of Saint-Émilion. This terroir is known for producing grapes with a perfect balance of ripeness and acidity, contributing to the wine's distinct elegance and structure. Carillon d'Angelus undergoes a careful vinification process similar to its grander counterpart. The grapes are meticulously sorted and fermented with precision. Ageing takes place for 18 to 22 months in French oak barrels, which imparts subtle notes of vanilla and toast while preserving the wine’s fruit-driven character. This blend features ripe red and black fruit, hints of spice and floral undertones on a silky palate with well-integrated tannins. This wine boasts long-term ageing potential.
