Clos du Clocher, situated in the heart of the Pomerol appellation on Bordeaux's right bank, was established in the early 20th century. This estate has a relatively recent history compared to some of its age-old neighbours but has quickly risen to prominence within the region. The estate was founded by the family-run Jean-Baptiste Audy négociant company through the acquisition of several prime parcels of vineyard land near the Pomerol church. This location is the origin of its name, "Clos du Clocher," meaning "enclosure of the bell tower." Audy collaborates with the renowned oenologist Michel Rolland at some of its holdings. Over the decades, the estate has expanded and refined its vineyard holdings, focusing on the optimal sites for growing the Merlot and Cabernet Franc, grapes that define Pomerol's esteemed wines. The estate cultivates just over four-and-a-half hectares of vines split into three plots and planted predominately to Merlot with the remainder Cabernet Franc. This composition reflects the traditional blend that has made Pomerol famous worldwide.

Vineyard and winery methods reflect a commitment to terroir expression and quality. Fermentation is conducted in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, followed by ageing in French oak barrels to enhance complexity and depth without overwhelming the wine's inherent fruitiness. Clos du Clocher features ripe blackberry, plum, cherry, hints of spice, liquorice and truffle in a full-bodied, velvety palate with well-integrated tannins. This first wine has considerable cellaring capacity.
