Understanding Chateau Vray Croix de Gay, Pomerol, Bordeaux

With a philosophy that emphasises terroir expression, the winemaking process is carefully managed to ensure that the intrinsic qualities of the fruit are preserved and enhanced. In the winery, plots are kept separate to preserve unique terroir expression throughout the fermentation process. This is followed by ageing for 12 to 14 months in French oak of which up to one-fifth is new. This step adds complexity and structure without overshadowing the wine's natural elegance. Château Vray Croix de Gay features ripe red and black fruit, subtle hints of spice and a touch of minerality in a silky palate with fine-grained tannins that contribute to its graceful ageing potential.
