The grapes for Pensées de Lafleur are meticulously selected from the estate’s younger vines that flourish in the famed clay and gravel soils of Pomerol. These soils are particularly suited to the primary varietal, Merlot, which dominates the blend and is known for its rich, velvety texture. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks to preserve fruit purity. The wine ages for 15 months in quarter-new French oak barrels. This stage integrates the fruit and oak components to produce a wine that is both complex and approachable. Pensées de Lafleur is noted for ripe red fruit, earthy nuances, truffle and delicate florals in a rich and layered palate with refined tannins. This wine has excellent cellaring potential.
