Understanding Chateau La Pointe, Pomerol, Bordeaux

Château La Pointe's approach to viticulture emphasises sustainability and respect for the environment, with practices designed to maintain the health and balance of the vineyard ecosystem. Vineyards are carefully managed parcel-by-parcel. The selection process for the grapes is rigorous, ensuring only the best fruit is used to create the estate's wines. This attention to detail continues through the vinification process with each vineyard plot processed individually to preserve unique characteristics. Typical practices include careful temperature control, gentle extraction and ageing in French oak, half of which is new. These practices culminate in a wine that is a true reflection of Pomerol's terroir, offering a sophisticated blend of power, finesse, and longevity. Château La Pointe displays ripe dark fruit, delicate florals and a hint of minerality in a layered palate with plush tannins. This wine has excellent ageing potential.
