Understanding Chateau Feytit-Clinet, Pomerol, Bordeaux
The vineyards of Château Feytit-Clinet benefit from the rich clay, sand and gravel soils that are characteristic of Pomerol, providing an ideal environment for Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines. The estate employs traditional viticultural practices, with a focus on low yields and high-quality fruit, ensuring the production of intensely flavourful and aromatic grapes. Winemaking at Château Feytit-Clinet is a careful balance of respect for tradition, embracing modern techniques. Grapes are meticulously harvested at optimal ripeness and sorted to select the best fruit. Fermentation is conducted in concrete and temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats, followed by ageing for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels. This approach enhances the wine's complexity and depth while maintaining the integrity of the fruit's natural flavours. This Grand Vin displays ripe dark fruit, dark chocolate, earthy undertones and hints of truffle in a luxuriously textured palate with velvety tannins. This wine has considerable ageing potential.
