Château La Tour Haut-Brion, once a distinguished estate within the Graves region, carved out a prestigious reputation for its exceptional red Bordeaux wines. Situated in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, close to the city of Bordeaux, the château was part of the illustrious wine landscape that makes up the Graves region. Its history was intertwined with that of its renowned neighbours, Château La Mission Haut-Brion and Château Haut-Brion, underlining the area's significance in the world of fine wine. The estate has passed through many hands since its founding and has been known by different names. At the turn of the 20th century, the Coustau family purchased Château La Tour Haut-Brion soon before it bought Château La Mission Haut Brion. In the 1920s, the Woltner family bought Château La Tour Haut-Brion which they held for six decades until it was sold to the owners of Château Haut-Brion. In the 1959 Classification of the Graves region, Chateau La Tour Haut Brion was featured. The five-hectare vineyard of Château La Tour Haut-Brion was planted mostly to Cabernet Sauvignon with a large section of Merlot and a small quantity of Cabernet Franc. The estate's wines were recognised for their ability to balance intensity with finesse, reflecting the unique terroir of Pessac-Léognan.

The viticultural philosophy at Château La Tour Haut-Brion was grounded in a deep respect for the land and a commitment to sustainability. The estate's practices were designed to highlight the unique character of its wines, emphasising purity, complexity and elegance. Winemaking was meticulous with careful fruit selection. Fermentation was followed by ageing in 30% new French oak for 18 to 22 months. The Grand Vin of Château La Tour Haut-Brion features dark fruit, spice, cocoa and delicate oak in a rich palate with refined tannins. This wine has excellent ageing capacity.
