Understanding Chateau de Fieuzal, Rouge Cru Classe, Pessac-Leognan, Bordeaux

The terroir of Château de Fieuzal features gravelly soils mixed with sand and clay, providing an ideal environment for the grape varieties grown on the estate. The château employs sustainable viticultural practices, ensuring the health of the vineyard and the quality of the grapes. The average vine age contributes significantly to the depth and intensity of the wine. In the winery, Château de Fieuzal utilises a combination of traditional and modern techniques. Fruit is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks and then aged for 16 to 24 months, depending on the vintage, in oak to achieve a harmonious integration of oak and fruit. This meticulous approach to winemaking allows Château de Fieuzal to produce wines that are not only true expressions of their terroir but also reflections of the estate's rich heritage and dedication to excellence. This Grand Vin displays ripe dark fruit, spice and hints of earthy undertones in a finessed palate balanced with refined tannins. This wine has considerable ageing capacity.
