Château La Fleur Peyrabon, found in the prestigious Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, boasts a viticultural heritage that is as rich as the soils that grace its vineyards. Today the house is owned by the vigneron Castéja family and it holds the prestigious Cru Bourgeois status. The château cultivates 37 hectares of vineyards in the Haut-Médoc zone. Understanding Chateau La Fleur Peyrabon, Pauillac, Bordeaux
The estate tends its vines, which have an average age of 25 years, with a diligence that’s extended to the winery. The winemaking process is judiciously managed to ensure that each step contributes to the wine's complexity, balance and elegance. The wine sees fermentation in stainless steel vats to preserve its fruit expression. This is followed by 14 months of ageing in French oak barrels, about one-third of which is new. The step deepens the complexity of the wine without overpowering its rich fruit. Château La Fleur Peyrabon features dark fruit, cassis and subtle oak nuances in a powerful and refined palate with silky tannins and a lingering finish. This wine has excellent cellaring capacity.
