Understanding Tapanappa, Tiers Vineyard Chardonnay, Piccadilly Valley, South Australia
Tapanappa Tiers Chardonnay takes root in the renowned Tiers Vineyard located in the Adelaide Hills, where the unique combination of altitude, climate and ancient soils fosters the perfect conditions for cultivating exceptional Chardonnay grapes. The vineyard's cool climate ensures slow ripening, resulting in grapes that possess both finesse and intensity. The winemaking process for Tapanappa Tiers Chardonnay is characterised by precision and a commitment to preserving the purity of the fruit. Grapes are meticulously hand-harvested at their peak, and the fruit is gently whole-bunch-pressed to extract only the finest juice. Fermentation takes place in part-new French oak barrels, with a careful selection of specific coopers to enhance the wine's complexity. The wine is barrel-aged on full lees for texture and complexity before clarification and bottling. Tapanappa Tiers Chardonnay features ripe stone fruit, citrus blossom, subtle hints of hazelnut and delicate minerality in a creamy palate. This wine has exceptional ageing potential.
