The grapes for Bin 389 are harvested from a selection of premium vineyards in regions such as the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Coonawarra. These regions are known for their diverse soil types, ranging from rich loam to red clay and limestone, contributing to the complexity and depth of the wine. Penfolds' winemaking philosophy is anchored in a seamless blend of tradition and innovation. The Cabernet and Shiraz grapes are vinified separately and then aged in American oak hogsheads, a portion of which are new.
