Understanding Two Hands, Lily's Garden Shiraz, McLaren Vale, South Australia
Lily's Garden Shiraz is carefully sourced from select vineyards across McLaren Vale, each chosen for their ability to contribute unique flavour profiles and textures to the blend. These vineyards are characterised by their varied microclimates and soil types, ranging from rich maritime, sandy soils to ancient stony terrains. Grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, hand-sorted and then fermented in open-top vats with extended maceration. This method ensures controlled and ideal flavour and tannin extraction. Post-fermentation, the wine is aged in part-new French oak which imparts subtle complexity. This wine is bottled without fining or filtration to promote terroir expression. Lily's Garden Shiraz features ripe blackberry, cherry, a touch of warm spice chocolate hints and earthy notes in a lush palate with well-integrated tannins. While delightful in its youth, Lily's Garden also offers excellent cellaring potential, promising to unfold further layers of complexity over time.
