Understanding Grant Burge, Meshach, Barossa, South Australia
Meshach Shiraz benefits from the Barossa Valley's warm climate, which is ideal for growing Shiraz grapes that develop intense flavours and complexity. The vineyard's aged vines contribute to the wine's concentrated fruit character and depth. The winemaking process involves careful selection of the best grapes, followed by fermentation and extended maceration to enhance flavour and texture. Vinification in French and American oak barrels including about 21 months of maturation adds nuances of vanilla, spice and subtle wood undertones, creating a harmonious balance with the Shiraz's natural robustness. The wine is bottle-aged for a further 30 months before release. Grant Burge Meshach Shiraz displays dark berry, chocolate, mocha, hints of spice and liquorice in a full-bodied palate with smooth tannins. This wine has excellent cellaring potential.
